SNOW Fashion NYC: The Apres/Lifestyle Show
It’s nice to be back in the mountains of Aspen after a flurry of Winter for SNOW’s annual Media event. We had a great group of brands and, I know it just became Summer, but I’m dying to wear these looks. The fabrics, designs, furs, and footwear were all amazing. The show started out with Bogner. Per usual, they wowed the audience. Sonia Bogner has her own collection which featured some innovative designs and embroidery. The rest of the Bogner collection was a mix of leopard prints, cashmere, leather, and flannel. Next up was Sport Alm from Kitzbuhel, Austria. Take note, this brand is coming to the US and is one to watch. They had nostalgic pieces, lavish pieces with feathers, and great leather jackets. Next was Bergans of Norway, their collection oozed with an authentic Norwegian feeling, from the puffy jackets to the technical outwear. Alp n Rock showed some great summer golf wear along with their trademark long sleeve T shirts featuring ski resorts from around the world. The feeling was young and the colors were vibrant. Freyja from Canada is all about Icelandic Sweaters and accessories. You will never think the same way about Icelandic Sweaters after seeing this brand on our runway. Leonard Gorski showcased the fabulous furs and designs of this father and daughter team. If these fur pieces don’t say Apres Ski, then I don’t know what does. UGG Australia presented looks that you can’t live without in winter. Of course we know them for their boots, but the Shearling coats and puffy jackets were the perfect compliment to them. Nicole Miller was the finale. Her sexy wool dresses and beautiful long fur trimmed coats were to die for. The designer herself was in the audience and I can personally tell you that not only is she a great skier, logging 100′s of bump runs with her mogul crazy husband and son, but she comes to Aspen yearly where she lives the alpine luxury lifestyle. The best part of apres ski is that no matter your ski level, anyone can become a champion at Apres Ski.
